Rice grains are classified into three types such as short, medium and long grain. Each type has its own qualities and is ideally used in a specific recipe to make it unique. Short-grain rice, such as arborio and sushi rice, has the same length and width and cooks to a sticky texture. When cooked, medium-grain rice is twice as long as it is wide, and it becomes soft and moist. White Rice

Jasmine Rice

In Southeast Asia, jasmine rice is very famous. This rice has a floral scent and long grains. It comes in two colors: white and brown, but the brown variant is superior to the white. It’s often used as a replacement for basmati rice.

Brown Rice

Brown rice is the ideal rice to eat as it offers numerous benefits. It is low in calories and has a high soluble fiber content. Black Rice

Black rice has an excellent source of vitamin E, nutrients and iron and is common in Southeast Asian countries. They have a good amount of anthocyanin antioxidants which helps in diabetics and Alzheimer’s patients. This rice is richer in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties than any other rice. Black rice contains 9.1 grams of protein and fiber content – 4.7 grams per 100 grams.

Red Rice

Red rice is the latest choice in the fitness community. Red rice is a whole grain food. It contains the nutrients that white rice lacks. Red rice has a fiber source and includes several nutritional elements. Wholly or partly coated with red husk this kind of rice obtains its color from a compound called anthocyanin, which has many health benefits and medical properties and is often eaten unpolished and unshelled.
